How do survey answers become Salesforce records?
With AutoSurvey, each survey response is a Salesforce record in your org from the first submission. You can also map answers and the score to fields on the Lead, Contact, Case or custom record that the survey is about. Your reports, list views and record-triggered Flows then use those fields.
How the mapping works
- A survey runs for one Salesforce record, for example from an invitation, a record page or a Flow. AutoSurvey stores that record on the submission, on the server.
- In the survey settings, the author adds a mapping row. Each row has a source (a question or a score), the object it is written to, and the field.
- The author saves. AutoSurvey checks each row and refuses a field that the author cannot edit.
- The author releases the survey. The mapping is frozen with that release.
- A respondent submits. AutoSurvey calculates the score first, then writes the mapped values to the record.
What happens when a write fails
A failed write never loses a response. If a validation rule blocks the write, the response stays saved. The submission shows the result and the reason.
How the data is stored
The response data is in your Salesforce org, as records: one flat row per submission for native reporting, plus a per-answer table for BI tools.
Watch a survey answer land on the Case
Real product, sample data · 60 seconds, with captions. A customer answers a short survey about their support case. The score, the answer and the comment land in fields on that Case. Then a record-triggered Flow, built by the admin, opens a follow-up Task because the score is low.

Questions and answers
Can survey answers update a Salesforce Case, Contact or Lead?
Yes. In AutoSurvey, the survey author maps a question or a score to a field on the Lead, Contact, Case or custom record that the survey is about. When the respondent submits, AutoSurvey calculates the score, then writes the mapped values to that record.
Where are the survey responses stored?
In your Salesforce org, as records: one flat row per submission for native reporting, plus a per-answer table for BI tools. Response data is not held in a vendor cloud.
Can a Flow act on a low survey score?
Yes. The score is a field on a Salesforce record, so a record-triggered Flow can use it. For example, a Flow can open a follow-up Task when a score is low.
